I’m Björn Otto Peacock, I was recently featured in the first edition a digital magazine by https://horologyhub.com/ and at 45, I find myself deeply immersed in a career that has reignited my passion for creativity and craftsmanship. For 25 years, I worked as a field service engineer, a role I cherished until a serious back injury forced me to reconsider my path. Throughout my life, I’ve always been a watch enthusiast. From a young age, I admired the intricate details and the art of watchmaking. It wasn’t until five years ago that I began collecting watches. I quickly realized that the straps available never quite matched the unique character of my growing collection.

Three years ago, on my birthday the 4th of July—I decided to try my hand at making a watch strap. I had never done anything like it before, but I was thrilled with the result. Encouraged by my success, I made another, and then another. Each strap I created had its own personality, perfectly complementing the watches I treasured. My friends noticed and began asking where I got my wristbands. When they learned I made them myself, they wanted some too. Before long, I was shipping my custom straps worldwide. I’ve never been one for manuals or books. I’m a visual learner; I only need to see something once to grasp it.

This innate ability has been invaluable in my watchmaking journey.

Starting with wrist straps, I soon ventured into modding my watches. I began making replacement dials and bezel inserts, moving from simple geometric patterns to fully detailed, customized dials in 2.5D relief.

My style is distinctly my own, born from my imagination rather than any external influence. Equipping my workshop with a fibre laser and all the necessary tools, I’ve expanded my craft to creating fully custom watches from the ground up.

Clients request specific movements, which I order and incorporate into one of-a-kind builds. The acceptance and enthusiasm for my work has been overwhelming. My custom builds, dials, and straps are now enjoyed by watch lovers in:

My goal is to have one of my watches in every country in the world. What I love most about my job is the connection I forge with my customers. I offer a comprehensive warranty for as long as they own the watch, standing by the quality of my work. The unique requests I receive from people around the globe fuel my passion.

From creating commemorative watches for those who have recently passed to crafting special pieces for animal lovers wanting to remember their pets, every project is a labour of love.

One of the most memorable compliments I’ve received came from a customer who bought one of my limited series of five. He knew the other buyers and acquired two more, saying he felt I was destined to become a great watch artist and wanted to own the first of my special creations.

Currently, I’m designing my signature series of high-end watches. The feedback so far has been incredibly positive, and I’m excited about what the future holds.

This journey has been more than just a career shift; it’s a rekindling of my passion and a testament to the power of following one’s dreams.
